The Barn House Inn is a unique Bed and Breakfast: a rambling barn-like structure that conjures images of rustic farm life while providing modern conveniences. It provides an affordable retreat where the entire family can escape from the fast-paced world into a relaxing, country atmosphere.

Located near the Blue Ridge Parkway on a scenic country road, The Barn House Inn sits at the foot of Cat Knob Mountain, named by the local people for the mountain lions that once roamed there.

The Barn House Inn is just 40 minutes from Asheville, NC., and 20 minutes from Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Other nearby attractions include the Biltmore Estates, Linville Caverns, Grandfather Mountain, Beech Mountain Resort and Fairfield Mountain Resort. Open year round and approximately one hour drive to several ski resorts.

The property is situated on eleven acres of rolling hills and pastures. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the pastures where wild flowers flourish, hike along the woods, hills and creek, and gaze at the wildlife. Guinea fowl and wild turkeys ramble the acreage by day and deer can be seen in the evening.

Accommodations include a large bedroom apartment with a double bed, a full-size futon, a complete kitchen, and a large bathroom with shower stall.

An additional bedroom can be obtained for extra family members, and extra rollaway beds can be made available for children.

Total sleeping capacity of both rooms can be up to 8 adults.

Guests of the Inn will be pampered with a complimentary basket of fresh breads with homemade jellies and jams to go with a charming full-size kitchen stocked with farm fresh eggs and local honey, including coffee makings for the adults and milk and juices for the kids.

Pet Policy: a designated area is provided for well-groomed and trained pets. While pets are not allowed in the sleeping quarters, special care has been taken to provide for their comfort and enjoyment. Accommodations for pets include a secure, comfortable area indoors for their sleeping and a large, fenced yard for playing outside.

*Pastures are not fenced; however, horse lovers can use portable corrals or picket their horses in the pasture.

~ Smoking is not allowed in the sleeping quarters, but smokers will find
...ample space on the covered patio, with excellent views to enjoy.
